I have learned quite a bit in this CSS class and I have also learned a bit from my other class this semester. I have learned about positioning, how to create a navigation bar from an ordered list, I have learned about how to make forms appleaing with CSS. I have also learned about how to create style sheets for print, so that the URL will show beside a link. I have learned about specificity, I have learned to override external stylesheets, I have learned about how to create buttons and borders.

There is a lot that I have learned in this class. Some of it was from handouts, some of it was from the Lynda.com website and some of it was just from searching on the web.

Floating

The goal of this lab was to create two columns on this example website. This was done by floating. Floating is a pretty cool concept and is pretty simple. If you float something to the right, it will apear on the right of the screen. If you float something to the left, it will appear on the left. Floating is one of the major components in making a layout on a website, without using the archaic tables.

For this example, I originally floated the sidebar on the left-hand side of the page and floated the content portion on the right-hand side. I then notice that the sidebar was supposed to be on the right and the content was supposed to be on the left. No big problem, I just had to switch the float for content to left and sidebar to right.
